Participants Wanted For Annual MLK Day Parade

FOREST PARK, Ga. — Dec. 20, 2024 — The City of Forest Park is honored to announce that it has been selected to host the official Clayton County Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade for 2025. This highly anticipated community event will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 12 p.m. As the official parade for Clayton County, it rotates each year from city to city, showcasing our shared commitment to unity, togetherness and the enduring legacy of Dr. King. This annual celebration pays tribute to Dr. King’s vision while promoting efforts to foster equality, justice and community spirit.

The city is inviting individuals and clubs from throughout Forest Park to participate in this year's meaningful occasion. Participants can display a float, push float, band, colorful costumes, uniformed attire, drill, dance team or comical routines, antique or unique vehicles, etc.

The parade will begin at 1000 Main Street and will end at Starr Park with plenty of additional festivities to follow, including family games, live performances, food vendors, a kids activity zone and more.
