City Seeking Contractors For Home Repair Program

FOREST PARK, Ga. — July 16, 2024 — The City of Forest Park is seeking qualified general contractors and/or specialized home repair firms to participate it its Homeowner Maintenance Enhancements (H.O.M.E.) Program. The initiative, which was approved by Mayor Angelyne Butler, MPA, and City Council, provides grant funding to legacy residents ages 62 and older to help cover the cost of eligible home repair work and ensure their respective living spaces are safe and conducive to a comfortable lifestyle.

Through the H.O.M.E. Program’s multi-phased process, residents who are approved for eligible repair work must obtain a minimum of two quotes from the city's qualified list of contractors. All selected pre-qualified contractors and/or firms will then enter into an contractual agreement with the city to perform the repair work and receive funding not to exceed $10,000. Repair projects may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • HVAC/Furnace/Ductwork
  • Water Heater
  • Minor Electrical
  • Minor Plumbing
  • Re-roofing
  • Porch/Deck
  • Siding/Exterior Painting
  • ADA Improvements (i.e. ramps, gutters, window replacement installation)

All qualifying contractors and subcontractors performing work with the City of Forest Park, Georgia must register in OpenGov and participate in the federal work authorization program to verify the work eligibility information of new employees. The city also reserves the right perform inspections throughout the duration of the approved repair work.
