Councilwoman Delores A. Gunn

Delores A. Gunn is a dedicated public servant, community advocate, and champion for social justice. A widow, mother of three, and grandmother of nine, she has devoted her life to service, leadership, and community development.

With a deep commitment to addressing critical social issues, Delores has been a strong advocate for individuals facing addiction, mental health challenges, and reintegration barriers. Her experience at Sunrise Detox, one of Georgia’s leading medical detox centers, reinforced her dedication to supporting recovery and rehabilitation efforts.

As a board member of Men Facing, she helps lead mentorship programs that equip young men with essential life skills, reinforcing her belief that investing in future generations strengthens communities. She is an alumna of Restoration Theological Seminary and is an active member of the Forest Park Ministers Association working to address community needs through faith-based leadership.

Delores is the CEO of The Gator8, a nonprofit focused on expanding access to expungement and pardon resources, ensuring individuals have the opportunity for a second chance. Her dedication to social equity, workforce reintegration, and economic empowerment aligns with her vision for a more inclusive and thriving community.

A licensed and ordained Evangelist, Delores serves under Dr. Barbara and Dr. Leon Beeler at Gateway Restoration Church in Forest Park. She holds a bachelor’s degree in pastoral counseling and is a certified counselor with the Georgia Board for Christian Counselors.

Delores is looking forward to bringing her experience in advocacy, leadership, and community engagement to drive meaningful change, while also serving the residents of Ward 2. Her lifelong dedication to service underscores her belief that effective governance requires compassion, accountability, and a commitment to progress.
