Fire and Emergency Services Conducting Training Exercise On Jan. 10

FOREST PARK, Ga.  Jan. 6, 202— Public safety personnel from the City of Forest Park's Fire and Emergency Services Department will be conducting a pressurized container fire control exercise on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. Due to the exercise, Hines Ward Pass at Starr Park will be blocked off beginning at 4 p.m. the day of the event.

Pressurized container fire control is designed to train firefighters and fire officers who may be called at a moment's notice to handle an emergency involving a pressurized container. From small grill propane cylinders to rail cars, it is important for firefighters to understand these emergencies in order to maximize the preservation of life and property and allow for quick and efficient incident stabilization.

Officials from the department will offer a dedicating safe viewing area that will be roped off for anyone who wishes to watch the exercise.
