Updates On Water Outage Disruptions In Clayton County

** Update as of 6:35 p.m., Dec. 28: Forest Park City Hall will reopen to the general public tomorrow, Dec. 29, for normal business hours. The following offices and departments will resume city operations:  

  • City Hall (including Finance and executive offices)
  • Human Resources
  • Planning, Building and Zoning
  • Recreation and Leisure
  • Forest Park Senior Center

** Update as of 8:49 p.m., Dec. 27: The City of Forest Park will host another water distribution event on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Forest Park Recreation Center parking lot, located at 803 Forest Pkwy.

Cases of bottled water will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis; there will be one case distributed per vehicle. City residents must show proof of residency in order to receive a case of water.

** Update as of 3:20 p.m., Dec. 27: Due to ongoing water service issues impacting several areas throughout Clayton County, Forest Park City Hall will remain closed on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The following offices and departments will be closed to the general public:

** Update as of 2:35 p.m., Dec. 26: Due to the large demand, the city is now out of cases of water and will cease distribution effective immediately. The city is currently working with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security Agency to secure additional cases of water for residents. Updates will be provided once available.

FOREST PARK, Ga. — Dec. 26, 2022 — The City of Forest Park is aware of ongoing water issues impacting several cities throughout Clayton County. Reports of low to nonexistent water pressure have been made over the past few days. The city is in constant communication with the Clayton County Water Authority and is working diligently to get the situation resolved.

Updates will be provided once received. Residents with water issues are encouraged to call the Clayton County Water Authority at (770) 960-5200 to report any issues.

The City of Forest Park is distributing cases of bottled water at the Forest Park Police Department headquarters, located at 320 Cash Memorial Blvd. Cases of water will be distributed on a first-come, first served basis; there will be one case distributed per vehicle.

"We are working to ensure that we are doing everything we can to help keep our residents safe during this unprecedented stretch of cold weather," said Mayor Angelyne Butler, MPA. "Our team is in constant communication with the Clayton County Water Authority and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security Agency so we can attempt to have this issue resolved as soon as possible."
