Court Services Coronavirus Guidelines
Due to the current health crisis, the following procedures have been enacted to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and citizens. Please keep in mind that this is unchartered territory for all of us and we are trying our best to come up with reasonable policies that take into account the needs of the Courts and the public while keeping everyone’s safety in mind. Be mindful that the Forest Park Municipal Court is following the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control (“CDC”) to protect their staff and the public. To this extent, everyone entering the facility must agree to follow CDC and local health district guidelines and Forest Park’s policies and procedures for social distancing to reduce the spread of Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19. This will require everyone to maintain six (6) feet of distance between themselves and others as much as possible. This procedure will be required for all contact as well to limit exposure.
Additionally, we ask that you follow the guidelines below for a safe, effective, and efficient experience.
- All visitors of the Court will be required to wear masks. A mask will be provided to you if you do not have one.
- Court security will be using temperature scanners to ensure that defendant’s temperature is not above 100.4. If your temperature is above 100.4 then you will be provided a new court date and time.
- Only defendants and witnesses will be allowed in the courtroom. If the defendant is 21 and under then they may be accompanied by one (1) parent or guardian.
- No children are allowed in the courtroom. Please see Court staff to obtain a one (1) time courtesy reset.
- Social distancing will be enforced. Please adhere to the six (6) feet markers displayed around the building.
Additionally, a one (1) time courtesy reset will be provided if you have any of the following circumstances:
- You are sick.
- You are a member of an immune-compromised population (or living in a household with someone who is immunecompromised).
- You are over the age of 65.
- You have small children and do not have child care.
