City of Forest Park Investigating Malicious Network Intrusion

On Monday, July 22, the City of Forest Park was made aware of a malicious actor that gained access to the city’s information technology network. The intrusion was quickly identified and isolated in order to minimize any potential damage. At this time, there is no indication that any data and/or sensitive documents have been compromised or breached as a result of the incident. The city is currently working with law enforcement and its risk reduction team to both investigate the intrusion and complete a full forensic scan of all systems. All municipal departments – including fire, police and public works – remain fully operational; there have been no impacts to public safety.
