NOTICE FOR SETTING OF QUALIFYING FEES FOR
NOVEMBER 4, 2025, GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the City of Forest Park, Georgia, shall hold the General Municipal Election on November 4, 2025, to elect (1) Mayor and two (2) City Councilmembers. Qualifying for the general election shall be held at the Forest Park City Hall, 745 Forest Parkway, Forest Park, Georgia, from Monday, August 18, 2025, through Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The qualifying fee(s) for the office of the Mayor is Six Hundred Ninety-One Dollars ($691.00), and City Councilmembers Ward 1 and 2 is Four Hundred Thirty-Two Dollars ($432.00).

Elections
The City Clerk is the Elections Superintendent for the City and is responsible for qualifying of candidates and holding the municipal elections.
Qualification
As the qualifying officer, the City Clerk sets the qualifying period for City elections and qualifies each candidate for election. The City Clerk shall notify the Campaign Finance Commission of the names and addresses of all candidates and offices sought in any election within ten days of the close of the qualification period.
Qualifications for Mayor and Council Members
To be eligible for the office of mayor or council member, a person must be at least 21 years of age. They must meet the requirements of a qualified voter of the city, as prescribed by state law, and must have physically resided in the city for at least one (1) year preceding the election in which they offer as a candidate, and shall continue to reside physically in the city limits during this period of service. No person shall be eligible to be mayor or council member who shall have been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude unless that person has received a full pardon and has all rights of citizenship restored. When qualifying, a person shall provide the city clerk with an affidavit as described in section 21-3-91 of the O.C.G.A.

As the municipality's chief registrar, the City Clerk reviews an electors list submitted by the County and identifies in writing to the County Board of Registrars any names on the electors list of persons who are not qualified to vote at each primary or election, stating the reason for disqualification.
