Ioana Armstrong, B.B.A., GaBCEM, EMT-P
In February of 2021, Ioana Armstrong was appointed as the Department's first Emergency Management Coordinator. She began her career in 2012 after completion of her Paramedic Studies at Gwinnett Technical College. Before that Ioana completed a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Managerial Studies from Georgia State University. She has worked for several organizations including Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Gwinnett Medical Center where she served in a managerial and coordinating role over the Paramedics on staff. Ioana joined the Forest Park Fire Department in 2016 and "fell in love" with the crews and the Department's family-like atmosphere. In her time with Forest Park she has completed many certifications and continuing educations including Hazardous Materials Technician, Rope Technician, Trench Rescue Technician, Fire and Life Safety Educator, Fire Instructor 1, NPQ Evaluator, Fire Officer 1 and 2 and served as a Certified Relief Driver. Ioana received her GA-Basic Certified Emergency Manager in October of 2021 and is excited about the oppurtunity to coordinate, educate, and train members of the community and emergency response agencies in disaster preparedness, to help save lifes, and minimize damage impacts to the community.
